Scenes from last year’s Genesis adventure race on Wellington lake in Bailey, Co. We provided a rappel station and some hand lines for a section of the race. We had a blast despite having over a foot of snow on race day this time last year! We’re looking forward to this weekend’s race and expanding by being in a new location with climbing and rappelling as well as offering an intro to climbing course for racers. We had a great time this past week with @coloradomtnclub teaching an advanced crevasse rescue course.
Max Lurie (@alpinetothemax) did an incredible job presenting topics in a thoughtful, creative way with just the right amount of bad jokes! In this advanced course, students were challenged to “Paint their own masterpiece rather than painting by numbers”. 🧑🎨
Thanks to the students for being prepared and braving the cold on Saturday. 🥶 We’re looking forward hearing about some student mountaineering trips utilizing these skills this summer!
