AIARE 1 Avalanche Course March 23rd & 24th - The best backcountry skiing this season is still yet to come here in Colorado. Join us in Rocky Mountain National Park for 2 packed days of avalanche education with one of the best instructors in the biz, Max Lurie (@alpinetothemax). Trip planning, reading an avalanche forecast, backcountry travel, assessing avalanche hazard in the field, avalanche rescue, how to use your beacon, and digging a snow pit are just some the things you will learn on this course.

Last weekend we had a blast at the Lake City ice park. There were many familiar faces and some first timers as well. @danhunteroutside kept the tradition of cooking some meals and added buttermilk waffles to the menu. Perfect weather both days made for everyone having lots of time to climb and work on technique. When taking a break from climbing, the nearby fire pits and warming huts are game changers.
