Max grew up along Maine’s rugged coastline, learning to climb in Acadia National Park and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. With over fifteen years of experience, he began his guiding career while earning his Earth Sciences degree from the University of Maine. His studies took him to Denali National Park and the Cordillera Blanca in Peru. Since 2009, Max has guided and climbed across locations such as Alaska, the Canadian Rockies, the Cascades, Rainier, Red Rock, the Sierras, South America, the Tetons, and Yosemite. Now based in Boulder, Colorado with his partner Katie and their dog Dexter, Max is an American Mountain Guide Association certified Rock and Alpine Guide with a deep passion for ice, mixed, and alpine climbing. When not guiding, he sharpens his skills on local cliffs and in Rocky Mountain National Park. Max primarily works in the Rockies and Front Range but frequently travels to Ouray, Red Rock, Rainier, North Cascades, Grand Teton, the Canadian Rockies, and beyond.
Summit Ascents International is an authorized mountain guide service of Rocky Mountain National Park, Jefferson County, Colorado and Boulder County, Colorado.
